Dr. Hooper began her professional career in Molecular and Human Genetics Research after earning her degree from Texas Southern University. After five years in research, she transitioned into education as a High School Biology teacher and steadily advanced into leadership roles, serving as a district specialist, middle school assistant principal, principal, central office district leader overseeing principals, and Deputy Superintendent in the states of Texas and Arkansas.

Dr. Hooper has dedicated her career to school transformation, leading efforts that improved academic performance, strengthened accountability measures, and supported student growth. She also brings expertise in research and policy, utilizing both to inform decision-making and raise public awareness on critical issues in education.

Dr. Hooper earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy from the University of Texas at Austin through their Cooperative Superintendency Program. Dr. Hooper also completed advanced training through Rice University Executive Education program, and Harvard University’s National Institute for Urban School Leaders, where she studied best practices and research-based techniques for leading school improvement in urban settings. In addition, she studied abroad in Costa Rica to deepen her understanding of the Spanish language and better support multilingual learners.

Dr. Hooper is a systems-level change agent dedicated to transforming education through innovative small group instruction. By forging strategic partnerships with parents, students, schools, and other learning organizations, Dr. Hooper strengthens educational systems and fosters sustainable practices focused on student improvement.

Specializing in the design and implementation of instruction for teachers and students, Dr. Hooper creates innovative learning environments that work with existing school structures. These targeted, project-based experiences are specifically designed to build mastery, confidence, and independence for students who are not reaching their full potential. The methodology is grounded in rigorous backward planning and state standards, ensuring that every environment drives measurable, positive outcomes.
